Specific Uses

●Orthodontic wax is used to cover orthodontic appliances when these appliances (brackets or wires) touch and hurt cheeks, tongue and gums. Especially when brackets are installed for the first time, orthodontic wax is essential until patients get used to the devices.

Often patients are concerned about its safety, as it is meant to be used within the mouth, we make sure that it is safe to be swallowed.

●Even when patients have already been used to appliances, it is better to have portable orthodontic wax ready. During treatment process, there will be times when wires are broken or hooks are installed. Orthodontic wax is thus necessary as a temporary solution while waiting for the next treatment to come.
